Verdict: sweet, fragrant and refreshing
We’ve grown up drinking Asian-style soy milk, and a few years ago our parents became obsessed with making it themselves. They got a fancy machine from China and started producing soy milk from scratch so that they could enjoy it fresh (and at a fraction of the price) whenever they fancied it.
Soy milk is a popular alternative to cow’s milk, and has long been consumed in Asian countries where there is a higher level of lactose intolerance. It’s also a good source of protein, making it a popular option for vegetarians and vegans.
Although we both love the unique flavour of regular soy milk, some people find it a bit too ‘bean-y’. We were therefore really interested to try the black soy milk that Amy found in a Chinese supermarket: upon googling, we came across several articles that said it had a milder flavour than regular soy milk.
