芋头, warh teoh
Taro is a starchy root vegetable eaten for its unique chestnut-ty, coconut-ty flavour, and revered floury texture. The skin is dark brown and hairy and its firm white flesh turns a ruddy lavender when cooked. Wear rubbers gloves while peeling fresh taro because it causes itchiness. Pre-sliced frozen taro is more affordable.
